(Lineart drawn in Painter - Coloring done in Photoshop)
Short Description:
This is the scene from Zelda: Twilight Princess where Link is first pulled into the mysterious Twilight by a twisted monster. As the symbol of the sacred triforce glows on his hand, the creature tosses him aside in fear and he collapses to his knees. Pain grips him as something...begins to change...
He rears back and roars as the strange black squares of twilight sweep over him and he is transformed, staring blankly through the eyes of a wolf for a brief moment before falling to the ground unconcious.
Rambly:
OH EM GEE. It's finally done. DONE!
So I've been working on this off and on for...four weeks I think? I have no idea exactly how many hours it took (I wish photoshop kept track of that sort of thing).
I made it as an entry for

s Twilight Princess contest, though about halfway through I realized that not only was it turning out to be an oddly shaped comic (tall), but that comics in general are a little too
.busy for something like this. A single image done correctly can be far more powerful, and I wish Id realized it sooner.
Having not, I said, psha! Ah well, Ill just burn my eyes out of my skull by agonizing over details instead! Whee!

I am in dire need of practice both on people and backgrounds, so I took the opportunity to see what I could do. I probably should have used more references. XD OH wells. Many things I feel like I could change, but overall Im pleased with the results.
Game-to-artwork transition:
The transformation in the game was extremely fast and didnt show any actual blending of human-wolf like this does
the twilight also moved differently and was less spotty and random. I took a few liberties with it
for fun, mostly. I like to imagine this is more along the lines of what happened the first time (hense why he was in pain), but for every other transformation he was aided by Midna, who could render the experience painless.
Oh, and this is 50% the original size. Yeah, what the hell was wrong with me when I decided to keep it at that size for coloring? I nearly killed my poor computer with that photoshop file.
And finally - I hope to eventually make this into a flash-animated comic...nothing too shiny or exciting, just a page-flipper to make it easier to read.
